Same-Day Junk Removal in Singapore: What You Need to Know

When the Job Can't Wait Until Next Week

Sometimes a clearance can't sit on a scheduled bulky-waste calendar. A handover deadline lands tomorrow. A renovation crew arrives Monday and the old kitchen is still standing. A new fridge is being delivered in three hours and the old one is still plumbed in. These are the calls that come in to Junk Express most days, and they share a common thread: the timeline is the constraint, not the volume.

Same-day disposal is possible for most jobs in Singapore, but it isn't automatic. Here's what actually determines whether we can fit a request in and what helps a crew get it done in a single trip.

How an Express Job Comes Together

The flow we run on urgent jobs:

  1. Photos and address first. A few clear photos of the items, your block, and the access route give us 90% of what we need to quote and to plan the right crew size and vehicle.
  2. A real availability check, not a promise. We confirm a window based on what crews are actually free that day. Same-day slots fill fast — booking earlier in the day improves the odds significantly. After-hours, Sunday, and public holiday work is subject to availability and surcharges apply.
  3. Confirm access. For condos and commercial buildings, the owner or tenant arranges the service-lift booking and any building-management approvals directly. We are not authorised to liaise with MCSTs or building management on your behalf, and rules vary per building — getting that confirmed before our arrival is what keeps the job to a single trip.
  4. Crew arrives and clears. Dismantling on-site where needed, padding for floors and lift doors where the building requires it (the building's padding, arranged with management directly), full loadout, and proper routing of the items at the end.

What We Typically Handle Same-Day

The categories we're regularly called for at speed:

  • Furniture clearances — sofas, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, desks, dining sets. Single items through full-home.
  • Appliance removal — fridges, washers, dryers, aircon indoor and outdoor units (with the refrigerant work handled by your aircon technician beforehand).
  • Office decommissioning — desks, chairs, partitions, server racks, pantry equipment. CBD buildings have stricter access windows; plan around them.
  • Renovation debris — hacked tile, cabinetry, fixtures. Volume-based, weight matters for stair jobs.
  • Move-out clearances — the "everything left in the unit" call before a handover. Common on the last day of a tenancy.
  • E-waste at volume — monitors, CPUs, printers, networking gear. Routed through proper recycling channels at the end.

We don't take cars, motorcycles, asbestos, chemicals beyond standard household paint and solvents, cooking gas tanks, loose batteries, food waste, or anything hazardous.

What Slows an Urgent Job Down

In our 10+ years running clearances across Singapore, the recurring delays are predictable:

  • Building approval gaps. For condos and commercial buildings, no service-lift booking on the day means the crew waits or reschedules. The owner or tenant arranges this with their management ahead of time — we can't.
  • HDB walk-up access. Older HDB blocks without a lift turn a 90-minute job into a half-day. Stair surcharges apply and the crew sizing is different.
  • Hidden items. "Just one sofa" becomes a sofa, a wardrobe in pieces, and a fridge once the crew arrives. Send all items in the photo brief upfront for an accurate quote and the right vehicle.
  • CBD time windows. Buildings along Shenton Way, Robinson Road, and the Raffles Place loop typically restrict goods movement to specific hours. Plan to land inside the window the building actually offers.
  • Surcharges on the day. After-hours, Sundays, public holidays, walk-up blocks, long stair carries, and ramp use all carry surcharges, confirmed at quote stage. We hedge rather than promise on these — better to know upfront than negotiate at the kerb.

What "Premium Speed" Actually Means Here

Express isn't about a stopwatch promise. It's about being the operator that picks up the call on the same day, sends a crew sized correctly for the job, and clears the load in one trip without surprises. After more than a decade of urgent jobs across HDB estates, condos, the CBD, and industrial parks, the muscle memory is in the planning — how the vehicle is loaded, when the lift gets booked by the building, which corridor turn the L-shape comes apart at — not in the marketing.
